Simple Past Tense

Students, to know better about Recount Text, recalling Simple Past Test is a good start. Why? As Recount tells us something happens in the past. So, let's go...


Look at this sentence.

They went to Tambi Tea Plantation.
   S      P         adverb of place

We start to analyze the sentence is from the predicate. 
The predicate of the sentence above is went.

RECOUNT - DIALOGUE

Read the dialog below. Then answer the questions.

CG : Where did you go on the weekend?
D   : I went to Tambi Tea Plantation, a small village in Dieng.
CG : Did you go alone?
D   : No. I went with my aunt and uncle.
CG : What did you do there?
D   : Well, we spent two nights there in a luxurious bungalow inside theplantation.
CG : And then what?
D   : Uhm… we ate “Mie Ongklok” you know.It’s a traditional food from Wonosobo.
        The next morning we visited the tea plantation and watched how tea leaves were processed.
CG : Wow, your weekend sounded great!
D   : Indeed, we had a lovely time there because the weather was cool and the scenery was beautiful.

introduction

 What's up students. This is the first meeting. So I want to introduce myself and to give you little about the summary of our English materials for students of grade X.
       First of all, I would like to introduce myself. My name's Mohamad Wigunadi. I am your new English teacher. I'll company you learning English for a year, perhaps.
       Our English materials for the first semester are divided into three parts. They are transactional dialogs, short function text, and genre or text types.
       Students, this is the outline of our material which we study for this semester. For further discussions, we would meet you for the next session.
